1990 marked the opening of Bethesda Mission’s Youth Center – a direct response to the growing needs of inner city youth. With the help of an incredible team of staff and volunteers, the old firehouse on Herr Street has become a lighthouse to hundreds of inner city youth.

The Center offers a safe, nurturing environment where kids can be kids, while discovering their purpose and God-given potential. Youth learn to express themselves in fun and creative ways, while learning and testing valuable life skills.

Bethesda’s after-school program serves inner city youth ages 7 through 18. A typical week consists of spiritual development and creative learning classes, arts and crafts, worship time, recreation, snacks, and plenty of active fun.

During summer break, we run an 8-9 week program offering morning classes, lunch and afternoon field trips. The team at Bethesda’s Youth Center is proud of the important role they play in mentoring and equipping Harrisburg’s rising generation.
